Xiaogan Data Center Indirect Evaporative Cooling Tower Project
Project Overview
This project is located in Xiaogan City, Hubei Province. The building covers an area of 1,560 square meters, with four floors above ground and a total height of 22 meters. As a core computing power project for new infrastructure in Xiaogan City, the project aims to become a new benchmark for digital intelligence applications across the province, focusing on meeting the demands of artificial intelligence computing power and fully supporting the high-quality development of the regional digital economy. Upon completion, the project will provide high-quality computing power services featuring integrated computing and networking, security, reliability, and low latency to all industries in Xiaogan. It will primarily empower the digital upgrade of Xiaogan's "4+2" leading industries (electronic information, intelligent manufacturing, biomedicine, etc.), accelerating the transformation of traditional industries toward intelligent and green development.
Operation Mode
The design adopts two sets of Aolan indirect evaporative cooling chillers (model AGS510-ZLB), corresponding to a cooling capacity of 900 RT, with two units in total.
During hot and humid summer conditions, the indirect evaporative cooling chiller operates as a cooling tower, with supply/return water temperatures of 30°C/36°C. In transitional seasons (spring and autumn) and winter, the indirect evaporative cooling chiller directly serves as a cooling source, with supply/return water temperatures of 17°C/23°C, providing chilled water to the terminal systems and achieving energy savings and consumption reduction for the overall system.
Technical Highlights
Green and Energy Saving: The core refrigeration system of the project adopts Aolan indirect evaporative cooling chillers. By efficiently utilizing natural cooling sources, the system significantly extends the operating duration of purely natural cooling compared to traditional direct evaporative cooling tower systems, minimizes mechanical refrigeration energy consumption, and achieves year-round energy savings and consumption reduction.
Smart Construction: The project fully incorporates a "smart construction site" management system. Through technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and big data, the system enables information-based control of the entire construction process, effectively improving construction safety and management efficiency.
Conclusion
This project is a core component of Xiaogan City's new infrastructure computing power capacity building. It will further strengthen the regional digital infrastructure foundation and significantly enhance the competitiveness of Xiaogan City's business environment. Against the industry backdrop of continuous global data center expansion and increasingly stringent energy consumption constraints, Aolan's indirect evaporative cooling technology, with its low energy consumption, high reliability, and flexible operation modes, has become a mainstream energy-saving solution in the data center cooling field. The project is currently in its final construction stage and is about to be officially put into operation. At that time, it will inject strong computing power momentum into the high-speed development of Xiaogan's digital economy, driving the digital transformation of regional industries into a new era.
